3. Gas phase reaction method. Use a mixture of niobium pentachloride vapor, hydrogen, and methane as raw materials to prepare niobium carbide: pass the mixture of niobium pentachloride vapor and hydrogen on a tungsten wire heated by electricity at a temperature of over 1000°C. A metal niobium layer is formed on the surface of the tungsten wire, and then the temperature is increased to 1300℃ by continuing to energize, and then a mixture of methane and hydrogen gas is introduced to carbonize the niobium into niobium carbide and deposit on the surface of the hot tungsten wire, which is the product.
